only in regards to the genuine fans caught up in it - but the police in that situation are not there to seperate whos fighting with them and whos trying to get out the way - pretty much like those 'innocent' england fans who get battered in the foreign countries when yob elemant of the england support start to chuck things about streets at the local police -which is always well documented -
I am not trying to score points here - merely making the comparison.

There were no 'innocents' in the attack against the policeman where he was tripped up and set upon, like animals.
The innocents were the people of Manchester having to put up with their city being destroyed. Any supporters that werent wanting to cause a riot would have been well hidden away, and rightly so. I have been in Manchester in a car, when its kicked off and a crowd of a few thousand have rushed the police like that, metres from where I was with my newborn. I have never been so scared in my life. Thankfully the police led them in a different direction (basically getting them out of the centre and the public).
Beats me how 'humans' can act like this because they lost a match

Re: I am in shock
Sorry Glasgowguy, That post came out quite harshly, I am 100% positive that theyre will be many Rangers fans hugely disappointed and as disgusted as the rest of us that all this occurred

dont worry about it - you are correct in what you say about being disgusted - and it wasnt cos they lost the match - it all started cos the big screen broke down and couldnt show the match - which makes it even sadder.
the way to have solved it would to have had no drink in the fan zones - they only allowed no bottles in which I though was wrong cos you could take cans, so you would not have had 10,000 fans sitting all day with umpteen cases of beer waiting 8 hours for a match to start if alchohol was banned for the designated areas.
but hindsights a wonderful thing.
