Jack Taylor OBE RIP

Jack Taylor, maybe the best football referee to come from England, has sadly died at the age of 82, he referee the world cup final in 1974 between Germany and Holland. I actually met him in the early 70s, a mate was a football league linesman and he had a night match at Anfield, and I went along, free stand tickets, we were there about 5pm and went to the refs room and Jack Taylor was the ref. a real gent went on the field inspection, (touched the sign Barrie) a great experience. The only ref I ever saw who came close to Jack was Collina the bald headed Italian from a few years back. RIP Jack
