Sales of Swiss rolls plunged by almost a third before England's win over Switzerland last night. A spokesman for Somerfield supermarkets said : 'Shoppers went for traditional English cakes instead, such as Victoria sponge'.

Don't wanna be a party pooper and all that but lets not get carried away. We were quite poor for long periods on Thursday, sloppily gave away possession in our half (a better team would've punished us) and played for half an hour (when two goals were scored) against ten men - the scoreline was flattering to say the least.

On the plus side - our defence was good again, Hargreaves looked the part when he came on, Vassell and especially Rooney good.

Rest assured Croatia will give us a hell of a game come Monday - nappies might be the order of the day.....

I agree with you on that. England didnt play too well against 11 men. Rooney was good, owen was an absolute disgrace and should lose his place to vassell. Now lets hope we can get a result against croatia.

I agree. Vassell works hard for England and deserves a starting place alongside Rooney. I don't know what has happened to Owen. Rumours are that he is trying to play through an injury but is keeping quiet about it.
