UEFA could ban debt-ridden clubs
Uefa have said that clubs who are debt ridden maybe baned from European competitions. The likes of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, could be hit hard, but its not just them, Fulham are about £180 million in debt. Sunderland £35 million, Wigan £65 million, Rovers £20 million which is one of the lowest debts in the prem. the only clubs with little debt are the newly promoted clubs. Spurs have debts of around £17 million, but this is said to be because they continually sell their top players to balance the books. Personally I don't think it will happen, because without the top teams in Europe the competions would be meaning less and we've got to remembr that clubs in other countrys are just the same, Real Madrid being an example.

Re: UEFA could ban debt-ridden clubs
It wouldn't touch the top clubs. It'd only concern clubs with debt that continually needs addressing. The debt of Chelsea for example is managed and isn't a debt that puts the club in any state of instability.

Thats all well and good shaker but what happens when the russian decides h wants another toy train set to play with, £750 million debt comes a real problem, where as the Rovers with a £20 million debt is well managed. The report singled out the four top clubs in England who between them they have debts of over £2 billion. Its costing the likes of United over £40 million a year just to service the debt

Re: UEFA could ban debt-ridden clubs
Just makes me glad that Eric makes sure the floodlights are switched off after the match, along with other cost-saving measures, as I would not want our future European campaigns to be jeopardized.

Chelsea's financial future will not depend on the whim of Mr Abramovic, they're a little more savvy with their pennies than that down in Thatlondon. Besides the top four can make their own income from their global reputation, they have no worries. It's the fringe teams that are just there to make up the numbers that will feel the punch.
