Is It Me?

My son bought me a Sony Cyber-shot DSC - W50 camera for Christmas and I've taken some lovely images with it. Well, until last week that is.

I now find that there are two lines across each shot.......sort of like mixed up pixels. It looks even worse when I load the image onto the computer. I've tried the troubleshooting guide but nothing mentions this type of problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Try formatting the card, do it with the camera not the PC

Ask Tinkerbelle about sony she sent her camera back for a free repair and they charged £130 .
be carefull about sending it to sony

K.S.H. has probably given the right answer... just find the card format option and format it.. use the camera not the PC .. dont go sending it back for a faulty memory card .. I had the same problem and that was a faulty hard drive. (memory card is just a small hard drive type fing) as you can see the lines within the camera then it will be the memory card.. try a different card if formatting doesn't fix

Quickest way to check if it's a camera fault is just try a new card in it.

but if you only have one card its an expensive way of testing it.

Yeh be very careful indeed, she rang them who confirmed it was a sony fault with the camera, she sent it off then for 4 mnths or so she had nowt but aggro - even threatened to send sony to court for return of camera either drop the charge or put it back into condition she sent it to them like - eventually she got it back, so be very careful with Sony!

I don't have a memory card. I'm using the camera memory until I can afford one. The other problem is that I'm in Spain and the camera was purchased in Manchester.

I've been checking out the Sony sites but nothing has helped so far. My next mission is to travel across the island to the one and only Sony dealer. Wish me luck and thanks for your help x
