Are there any bands in accy?
there is a distinct lack of bands in accy. my dad said that motor head played in accy once and they now live in beverly hills in america so why am i subjected to crappy dance music that belongs in the bin!? come on peple tell me where all the bands play?

Depends what kind of music you're into. Some of the pubs used to have bands on, mainly jam/oasis type people. Seen a couple of good blues bands at the town hall, bands a plenty at the park party in the summer, of course, all the famous ones are in Manchester.

The George on Blackburn road used to have regular live bands on but i dont think that much is happening there now, you need to get out of town for your pleasures at he moment.
Try the Rhythm Station in Rawtenstall, worth giving them a call or they may even have a website, its a bitch if you have to catch the last bus home. Colne Blues festival is a great place, lots of good blues bands, most of the venues are free admission. B.

any rock band to be honest but i'd like to see more heavy metal and less tribute bands.

Ur just about 3 years too late mate. There were a least two cracking metal bands around Accy ~ Gridlock and Buffalo (think they might still be gigging, you'll have to check the website). There's another band called AC/DO (AC/DC tribute). very good but boring unless you're into AC/DC.

Keep an eye on the hope and anchor. They have rock bands on every few weeks.
Check out http://www.slackbabbath.co.uk/ have a look when they are playing. U need to be at quazfest 3 in Burnley later this year. Or u could just go and sit in the Adelphi. |

I think the closest you're going to get is Manchester. Especially with the bigger names. The Offspring played at Manchester Apollo not so long back and Less than Jake are coming over soon at the same venue. This website is very good for that kind of thing.

what other bands are you lot into?my fave band ever is
 blink 182 , but i also love greenday, offspring, limp bizkit, bowling for soup, placebo, the darkness,nofx, good charlotte, less than jake, mxpx, avril lavigne (pls dont groan!!)and loads others, iv seen most of these live and hopefully will see loads more.Any more big blink 182 fans come on accy web? BTW i aint no teeny-bopper so dont even go there.although when ya go clubbin round accy town centre ya have to like some of the dance stuff they play (oh dear) |
