In the papers yesterday that Billy is in rehab for alcohol problems.I will nail my colours to the mast here and say I really like the majority of his material and hope he overcomes his latest battle,God knows he seems to have plenty!
Just curious as to why and when his singing style changed so dramatically;
early stuff like "piano man" is sung in a strange put- on English accent yet "Uptown Girl" sounds straight outta Brooklyn!

I quite like Billy Joel Lindsay,but I was jelous of him when he wed uptown girl,Christine Brinkly(think that was her name) sad to hear he is in a bad way though,

Well there's a marriage made in hell;he seems to have gone down hill since then;bl**dy supermodels;why can't they leave the decent ones for the normal folk and concentrate on the rest of their kind!

I like most of Billy Joel's stuff. Don't you think some of the post "Uptown Girl" material has similarities with "Piano Man"? I can't just think of the one I mean at the moment (should be in bed - too tired, brain gone numb) but if I do I'll come back to it.

I hope he overcomes his battle with alcohol.
