Re: Cliff Walmesley's
Sure the denim stall, then later shirts, ties etc. in the inside market was run by Cliff Walmsley.

Wasn't the one on Abbey Street called Duncan McKnows who used to hire out wedding suits?

Re: Cliff Walmesley's
No, Julie. McNoes, was on Blackburn Rd, Next to the arches, I got my suits made there, by Duncan's father Ernie. He was up to date in the 60s with all the mod requirments, eg, 22" centre vents, side vents, 1/2" turn ups, all the latest fabrics, mohair, tweeds, anything, you wanted, an unasumming little shop, but a great tailor and a nice man to go with it. I think there might have been a sports shop next door called Gibsons and a Chinese restaurant, on the other side. Am I right ?.

Re: Cliff Walmesley's
Well I tried to take a photo, and in fact I did take a photo with my little pocket camera but when I tried to upload it to the PC the flippin memory card was corrupted. I shall have another go tomorrow if I don't forget.

Re: Cliff Walmesley's
Don't forget the ticket pocket and six-button cuffs, Al...essential requirements before you went to the go go (or maybe just Accy Disco or Burnley Mecca in our case).
Willow, thanks for trying to take a pic of the old Cliff Walmsley's shop. Hope you have more luck next time.

Re: Cliff Walmesley's
Of course Wynonie and I used to have a silk hanky in the top pocket, to match the suit. I look in the mirror nowadays and say who the bloody hell are you. People who know me now cant believe what I was like then, compared to now. Talk about age shall not weary them nor the years condem.
