David Bowie

The following article shows his career in photos.

Seems he's tried to keep quiet about turning 65 today.

David Bowie 65th birthday: 65 iconic images of the ever-changing star - mirror.co.uk

Never knew that he was originally known as Davy Jones!

Happy Birthday "Starman".

Re: David Bowie

Yep knew about it, seen him once as a solo artist in some boozer in London early days, Top Performer had a great career, think packed it in following a heart scare a few years ago, wish him well.

Re: David Bowie

I like Bowie for his originality (surprising that so many 'pop' stars my age were so good!). There have been excellent one later but I feel the whole music scene has declined since the 80s. All a far cry from when we used to listen to 2-way family favourites in the 50s.

Why do yeh say its surprising dave? They had to be good way back, was very little to enhance the sound/music, n before Bowie, was sod all really.

I wasn't a big fan of Bowie, but I recognise he had talent...it just didn't float my boat.
It was Dylan for me...Bob Dylan, not the wacky rabiit from the Magic Roundabout.

Ya cashy, some of the so called "Pop Stars" of today will have long faded into oblivion by the time they make 65, very few have real talent today and certainly haven't got staying power

Re: David Bowie

Bowie was top boy during most of the 70's and at one time had 5 albums in the top ten at the same time ..very clued up and used the media for his own advantage.
