Just dug out some Depeche Mode cd's ..some of there stuff is fantastic.. thinking from when they "came on the scence" early 80's as kids just out of school playing soft synce stuff upto some real hard at you tunes 10 years later. the lead singer Dave Ghan can really put on a show and has quite a rare sort of vocals.. great stuff yeah?
Thanks for your opinion Garinda.. but I was really hoping to have responses from members who are .. lets say .. abit beyond Elton and Will Young.. and more into music.

Poppet, Depeche Mode were much to poppy, and middle of the road, ever to come under my musical radar.
I was into the avant garde music scene, while you were shuffling from foot to foot, in your grey slip-on shoes, worn with white socks, and just a hint of blusher, you rebel you.

I like the 2004 version of 'Enjoy The Silence', but never really liked anything else by them.
Saying that though I don't like a lot of 80s music, that decade shat the ultimate in tack upon society.
The 80s for me consists of very few good bands - The Jesus & Mary Chain, Smiths, Stone Roses, Echo & The Bunnymen and pre-Nevermind Nirvana.
This is not 80's pop.. a vid from 2006.. i'm saying they have come along from school kids and are better than Kraftwork.. at least they played live! here
