Favourite songs/music from the movies.

I've just woken up early, still dreaming I was sat outside this speakeasy with Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey, and I just had to hear this great, inspirational song, where the wayward Shugs is reunited with her preacher father, in the Color Purple (sic).

So on the day the Oscar winners are anounced. what song, or music from films do you really like?

Another song from the movies that fills my heart with joy, everytime I hear it.

Glad to see Christopher Plummer winning the Oscar. Love all the songs from this one.

Somewhere on Youtube there is a clip taken by mobile phone of me and friend Andrea running and singing "The hills are alive" having managed to make it up to see The Lion and The Lamb above Grasmere!

Adam to Gideon the seven brothers and Frank was for Frankinsence as there are no names in the bible being with F! They don't make 'em like this any more....

Barn dance scene is good too...

Mahler's music, used in Visonti's Death in Venice.

Re: Favourite songs/music from the movies.

I think this is one of the most powerful songs ever to be featured in a film.

So much can be read into it, and the madness that was about to be unleashed on the world.

Evil masquerading as health and efficency.

I prefer the instrumentals - voices are rarely fine instruments

Cute songs.

Though helped by her wearing two of the sexiest dresses ever to be worn in a movie.

The King, when his films still had a bit of a storyline.
