moonie did not need to perform to entertain, we were once at a "Crystal Palace Garden Party" huddled under plastic sheets on the sodden grass, when we heard n helicopter as it drew nearer, we saw KEITH MOON, painted in black letters on the underbelly, it flew over the lake where the stage was, then from about 100 FT high the crazy sod jumped out n made one hell of a splash in the lake, that was Moonie! Daft as a Brush. never knew why the WHO were not even performing at the festival.

Moonie was a drummer cashy and drummers are like goalies in football, half a pork pie short of a picknick

i missed his first execution and now with HDTV it coud be appreciated in its full glory if it could happen again , preferably before he got to sing one single note

For me it would be either John Bonham so Led Zepplin would be restored to their former glory or Dusty Springfield one of my favourite artists of all time.

This lady did it first, 1952, Elvis stole most of it.

Janis died the same year as Hendrix, and Jim Morrison.
She was Rock and Roll, immortalised in Leonard Cohen's Chelsea Hotel, (or was that Joni Mitchell?) she gave everything, just got my vote.
Summertime is one of my favourite songs as well, sorry you didn't like Janis' version, try Joni's.
