This is from my "era", a bit later than my teens, it takes me back to being a young wife and mum. I think it's a lovely song and I love the Beach Boys' voices. Brian Wilson was a fantastic song-writer and this is one of his best.
Don't they look uncomfortable and embarrassed just standing there and singing (I suspect miming)?

Oh you lucky thing, Cashy, I'd have loved to have seen them. In 1969 I was living in Whitby, N. Yorks, with a husband working shifts at Fylingdales Early Warning Centre, a 5 year old daughter and a 4 year old son. Thankfully I had a record player and a tape machine.
I'm still playing Beach Boys tracks - now on CD - and, usually, when I'm doing the ironing.

I'll bet the iron moves very well to Sloop John B West Ender

Can't see any talent in that...must have been an off day?
