RIP Benny Spellman
I know the name will be meaningless to most on Accyweb, but for the connoisseurs, RIP the great New Orleans vocalist, Benny Spellman. Here's his classic - much covered, but never bettered...

Not to me Wyn, love that number, as you say much covered world wide, I think the Stones did it on one of their albums RIP Benny

Not sure about the Stones but I've got it on an LP by a group called The Downliners Sect recorded in 1966.

Wonder what happened to them? OK I'll google it.

Still going...and releasing records!

The Downliners Sect

I bought that LP as well (The Rock Sect's In) from Mary's back in '66.
