RIP James Brown
James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," whose rasping vocals and revolutionary rhythms made him a founder of rap, funk and disco as well, died early today, his agent said. He was 73.Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. today, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, he said.
Copsidas said Brown's family was being notified of his death and that the cause was still uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," he said.
RIP.

Re: RIP James Brown
have heard pnuemonia, another legend passes on,would argue about his title"godfather of soul" but thats just my opinion.R.I.P. james you will be missed by many.the guy was still performing just a few weeks ago,and was reputed to be the hardest working live performer, that i wouldn,t argue.

Re: RIP James Brown
Yep, very sad, another legend passes over. I would also argue about his "Godfather of Soul" monicker, as I would award that title to the late Otis Redding. Still, a true black music great. My favourite of his was "Night Train" (as featured on the soundtrack of Quadrophenia). RIP, Mr Excitement.

Re: RIP James Brown
Mr Entertainment and the Godfather of Soul. R.I.P.
He was one of the few acts who could fill a dance floor with people of all ages.
Class.

Yup, looks like "papa's got a brand new bag" although I'm sure he doesn't "feel good!"
It is sad to me when these performers who I've grown up with, whether I like em much or not pass on. Usually always leaves a weird empty kinda feeling inside!

Re: RIP James Brown
I personally thought Living In America was a decent track

Re: RIP James Brown
He had the best afro hair in show business, perhaps second only to Little Richard.
