Ron Geesin

Ron Geesin
Ron Geesin is one of the best pianists I've ever seen, in the sixties he played with a band called the Original Downtown Syncopators, who appeared at The Jazz Club at Peel Park on a few occasions, hey also appeared at the Mayors Ball at Accy Con wen Bert Taylor was the mayor, Ron actually wrote a special number for the occasion called Mr Mayor Stomp your Foot, been trying to find a clip but the blurb is well worth watching. During their performance Ron used to do a piano solo which was introduce by the statement "at no time does Ron's fingers leave his hands"

Re: Ron Geesin

I vaguely remember them, I went to one of those mayor's balls cant remember which year, though. A mate of mine at the time around 1968 got married to one of the then mayors daughters, he got her pregnant, it didnt last long though. Jaysay can you remember any of the mayors name of the time.
