The Masterplan

Old song, new video...

http://entertainment.msn.co.uk/music...ve/default.asp

You've gotta open it in Internet Explorer but it's worth it.

Always loved the tune, think it's probably one of their greatest. Lyrically it's hard to find a better one.
Anyway, the video is Lowry-esque and Liam's character is hilarious.
Have a scant

Re: The Masterplan

I feared the worst when the best of was announced, but as it turns out it's a release by the label, not by the band.
The label are all shirty that Oasis aren't extending their contract with Sony so they're getting all they can out of them before their contract ends (probably onto their own label).
Noel has said in NME & a few other mags that they've got about 2 albums worth of stuff already written so I shouldn't think they'll be quitting anytime soon
I've hoped for a Noel Gallagher solo album for a while but I think the time has been and gone for that.

Watching one of the music chanels yesterday i heard aquiese, i thought only time i've seen a vid of this is when they played maine road...

As it went it was a far eastern jap/chinaman/thai...you get the gist doing the roll as liam! It was must watch stuff and very entertaining, i watched the entire song to see if Liam appeared, did he?...that would be telling

Re: The Masterplan

Nah the band aren't in either of the new videos.
The Acquiesce video is a bit nuts, with all the Japs & all.
Acquiesce & The Masterplan were always those songs 'that should have been a-sides' ...I dunno if they should have been left that way.
But oh well. What's done is done. Yet another record company effectively ageing a band a few years.

Re: The Masterplan

Pure class Think It'll be quite a while before any other band comes along with that sort of talent.

Re: The Masterplan

Apparently there's been stand-up arguments with the band over the non-inclusion of Rockin' Chair, it's a scandal!

The tracklist as picked by the band is...

Rock n Roll Star
Some Might Say
Talk Tonight
Lyla
The Importance of Being Idle
Wonderwall
Slide Away
Cigarettes & Alcohol
The Masterplan
Live Forever
Acquiesce
Supersonic
Half The World Away
Go Let It Out
Songbird
Morning Glory
Champagne Supernova
Don't Look Back In Anger

There's quite a few I'd like to see on there such as Underneath The Sky, but I suppose for future generations, this tracklist shows 'classic' Oasis.

Re: The Masterplan

lol maybe sony are getting rid of them because they was ''in, in the 90's "

They only did one good record and that was the first album ( apart from the b-sides that always seemed to be better )

Firstly, Oasis said they wouldn't sign on to Sony again.
Sony are not 'getting rid'.
Secondly, if Sony thought they were rubbish, they would not be releasing their best of to cash in before they leave their contract.
