Anyone know what the tune is that i think was used on radio 2 whenever something sad was read out. It was usually used to accompany love letters etc

Was going to suggest the same;

"our tune" on Simon Bates' Radio 1 show featured Franco Zefirelli's "Romeo & Juliet".

Re: whats that tune?

Think it was called "what is a rose " ?? Deffo from the Zefferelli film though, Mancini did a version of it.

Re: whats that tune?

It was indeed Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. It was used on Radio 2 for "Another true story"
