Late surge from the Antipodes as Stanley leave it late again

I only highlight this post to note that Val used every available pondering minute before committing himself - the post was timed at 1506, legal of course on this occasion due to the delayed start in memory of Hillsborough. Didn't do him much good though

The general mood was cautious , and entries quite low in number, following the previous week's load of cobblers. Just 15 keeping the faith , with 13 sitting on a crowded fence and 9 fearing the worst . The fence sitters were duly rewarded by Shay's late great leap and header . 7 of them picked up the max 5 points: Kiwi John, NigeB, Norwich Stanley, Ossy Kid, Revived Red, Sherry and Winstanley. Of the Top Ten, KJ and Sherry each moved up a place, to 3rd and 5th respectively, while Ossy Kid leapt up to 10th from 15th. At the top, Teach and AngeB each picked up a point - Teach's lead remains 9 over Ange, with KJ 4 points further back.

Our possible winners are now down to 8, and, of no interest to anyone but me, I'm back into the top half of the table, only behind my co-conspirator on countback .

Roll on the Stags. 2 Beattie-time goals as at Christmas would be most acceptable as an Easter present, if a little hard on the nerves ...

On Stanley On!!
