And as I don’t get back until the day before the Leyton Orient game on Good Friday, you’ll get 5 updates in one go at some point over the Easter weekend, hopefully before the Newport County kick-off. So roll on Pompey, Plymouth, Wycombe, Daggers and Orient: if we can get 10 points from those 5 games, we must surely be good for a play-off place at least . I've stuck my predictions for all 5 on the Pompey thread.
Well I predicted 3 wins and a draw and Stanley duly got 3 wins and a draw and the 10 points I wanted from the 5 games ….. but I only got 5 measly prediction league points, 4 of those at the last gasp from the Orient game.

Stanley 1 Portsmouth 3 (Chimer 2-1 – 0 points)

Only 2 pessimists for this one, Red-Osbornello and Yerself both taking 4 points, Red having twisted to 2-1 when he should have stuck at his original 3-1 . 12 others got a point for our late consolation, including 3 Top Tenners, AngeB, MikeA and Cashman, with Cashy climbing over Sparkie into 9th the only resulting change in that area. Red’s 4 points moved him up from 21st to 19th, and Yerself’s from his long-held 42nd (last of the regulars) to 40th.

Stanley 2 Plymouth 1 (Chimer 1-1 – 1 point)

A popular score this, 9 of you taking the max 5 and 8 taking 4 backing the win. That leaves another 8 with 3 points for the right result, 8 drawmongers with one bonus point for either the 2 or the 1, and 4 pessimists with nowt.

The maxis and their moves were: Accymad – 20 to 19; Proccy Fan – 11 to 9; Red-Osbornello – 19 to 13; Revived Red – 18 to 12; ChrisR – 51= to 46=
And by default: Leylandii – 5 to 2; Mab – 8 to 5; Sparkie – 10 to 8; St06nc2 – 24 to 21.

At the top, Leylandii pushed LongLostSon into 3rd on countback, both now 5 points behind AngeB who was a one-pointer for the second game running .

Stanley 1 Wycombe 1 (Chimer 2-0 – 0 points)

So the fencesitters got points instead of splinters for this one , Football19 (28 to 25), Kiwi John (29 to 26), Norwich Stanley (by default, 34 to 30) taking the max, with Accybeme (35 to 35) picking up 3. The rest of us were left scratching about for the odd point again , which was managed by all the Top Ten bar MikeA, who dropped from 5th to 7th as a result.

Daggers 0 Stanley 1 (Chimer 1-0 – 0 points)

25 went for the away win against the nailed-on bottom of the league, 8 havering over the draw and just Kiwi John and myself successfully employing reverse psychology . But of the 25, only Sparkie got the max (and that by default), and only 6 others, including JimsLad and MikeA from the Top Ten, picked up a single bonus for our clean sheet. This meant Sparkie jumped from 8th to 4th, Outback Ozzy dropped from 4th to 5th, Mab slid from 5th to 8th, and JimsLad and Mike stayed 6th & 7th.

Stanley 1 Leyton Orient 0 (Chimer 2-0 – 4 points!!)

Despite D3N’s somewhat wary preview, 28 kept the faith for this one, only 2 fearing the worst and 5 staying on the fence, including LongLostSon and JimsLad from the Top Ten, who both went pointless and dropped down from 3rd to 8th and 6th to 11th respectively. The maxis and their moves were Outback Ozzy, 5th to 2nd; MikeA, 7th to 3rd; Cashman, 11th to 6th; AccyMad, 16th to 13th; Ossy Kid, 17th to 14th; AndyD, 33rd to 31st; and Winstanley asfc, staying put at 36th but closing in on the pack ahead.

So – what’s changed overall while I was away? AngeB only got two right, no maxis, still leads but only by 4 rather than 6. The rest of the Top Ten are all within 4 points of second placed Outback Ozzy, with MikeA currently in 3rd, a point behind Outback and only ahead of Leylandii on countback. Sparkie and Cashman have put in late runs to move up to 5th and 6th, while the major losers among the contenders were Deeayess, down from 2nd to 10th, and LongLostSon from 3rd to 8th. Mab up a smidge from 8th to 7th. Proccy Fan completes the Top Ten as the only new entry, up to 9th from 13th, replacing JimsLad who dropped from 6th to 11th.

And I went from 12th to 20th , but enough about that. I've included the full table in two parts, as ChrisR had another (highly successful this time) go for the Argyle game.

So – normal service is resumed. Roll on Newport for a game of beach footy on Easter Monday . The top eight don’t play one another very much between now and the end of the season, the key is going to be not dropping points against the “also-rans” – On Stanley On!!
