Re: 2016/17 Prediction League; Game 42 v Blackpool (away)

Great point away today. Tomorrow 15th April, 11th birthday for Stanley in the football league. If anyone had told me that, 11 years ago I'd have been over the moon. Well done to all the great Stanley family.

Cautious Kiwi Closes The Gap

There was a bit of caution in the air as Stanley travelled to Blackpool seeking to extend their unbeaten run to a record 14 in a single League 2 season , with 6 of you predicting we wouldn’t make it and 5 clambering onto the fence. The record was achieved and the fence-sitters rewarded, though none took the max 5 points available. Kiwi John was the highest-placed sceptic, and his 3 points took him above Mab again into second place, still 6 adrift of AccyMad who was one of 7 picking up a single point. Revived Red positively stormed into the Top Ten, up from 13th to 10th, with Div3North (now, how shall I put this ) giving up his place in the elite with characteristic good grace . Of the other 3-pointers, Football19 moved from 17th to 15th, Stevie R from 19th to 18th and Winstanley asfc remained in 26th but got closer. None of the single point gains were enough to cause changing places elsewhere in the table.

With 4 games to go we are down to 13 possible Prediction League champions, Monkey Hanger being the least likely. 7 more will drop off the list on Monday if they don’t close in on AccyMad, who I’m guessing won’t be predicting anything but a Stanley win …….

So it’s roll on Creepy Crawley. On form we should be fine , but then on form Luton shouldn’t have been held by Leyton Orient and Morecambe shouldn’t have done Stevenage yesterday. But those results and others were fine by us - four games to go and we’re still in it .

On Stanley On!!
