Re: 2019/20 Prediction League; Game 24 v Burton Albion (home)

The Pack Close In On The Faithless Man From The Pool

We were super confident this week , and for once weren't punished for it . Only two total pessimists and five drawmongers, leaving 22 of us to take at least 3 points as the unbeaten streak stretched out to 6 games and we recorded our first back-to-back wins of the season.

But our leader Monkey Hanger was to be found amongst the losers , completely pointless, together with two more of the elite, Kiwi John and StanleyJosh. Which meant a closing up at the top of the table, with MH only retaining his lead on countback, with 4 maxis to NigeB's 3. Outback Ozzy held on to the final place on the podium, 2 points adrift.

Speaking of maxis, today produced 5, namely Ossy Kid (8th to 6th), Mike A (12th to 9th), Cashman (16th to 12th), Div3North (24th to 21st) and Tom D (27th to 24th). Of note, Cashy also posted back-to-back wins : over the last two games.

Stevie R only managed 3 points, but results elsewhere meant this was enough for him to gain a toehold on the top table, at 10th= alongside the fallen Kiwi, evicting StanleyJosh in the process. In fact SJ slipped back from 10th to 13th, with Cashy and MikeA also overtaking him.

So it's roll on the Dale on New Year's Day. Revenge for October would be sweet, I'm thinking, as would 7 games unbeaten. Can we do it? Course we can!

On Stanley On!!

really it was 3-0 but the useless get on the line was about 5 yds behind the line of play when he flagged zanzalas great strike offside.

Define "overly sad" nige, as compared with - say - ordinarily or averagely sad ……

And I've just got my first 5-pointer since the flippin' Middle Ages!
