Re: 2019/20 Prediction League; Game 35 v Bolton Wanderers FC (away)

Better Late Than Never, Part Two - Or, Very Little Happened

And here we go at last, taking you back to Leap Year’s Day, when Stanley headed to Bolton for the first of two games which should yield six points and banish any lingering chances of relegation . 20 out of 24 participants thought the first part of that would happen. Hum ……

Five of us (NigeB, Cashman, Revived Red, StanleyJosh and Div3North) thought Stanley would keep a clean sheet, and they were right , so they each got a point . Stevie R was the only one who thought Bolton would keep a clean sheet , so he got one, too . Or possibly he, too, got one. And Accybeme, standing lone, proud and indecisive on top of the drawmonger’s fence, thought the two would each get one, so got three . I hope that’s clear to everyone else, who got nowt .

Effects on the prediction league table were therefore minimal. Nige in 3rd got a point closer to our leaders Monkey Hanger and Valairian, MH still 6 clear of Val with Nige now 1 further behind. ABM in turn closed the gap on all three, and is now just 2 points off a podium spot in 4th. Josh’s point moved him up two, from 14th to 12th, overtaking Watchdog and MikeA. Cashy, RR and D3N stayed where they were.

So it became “Roll on Tranmere” for a game which it suddenly looked a bit more important to win. I wonder what happened ……….. to our table after that one? See you in a week or so.

On Stanley On!!
