Outback Ozzy Breakaway Catches The Peloton Napping

So today in Le Tour De Prediction League Outback Ozzy jumped off the front of the pack, and of the GC contenders in the peloton only AccyTom18 and StanleyJosh responded and made some sort of effort to bridge the gap .......

This was another easy-to-describe day . If you climbed the fence that surrounds the faithful and jumped down the other side, you got points , and if you didn't, you didn't . And although we were much more realistic than usual, with only 5 forecasting a win , the jumping-down-the-other-side bit was too much for many to contemplate, 8 staying indecisively on top while 10 took the leap of profitable faithlessness.

And of those 10, only 3 were in the top half of our table when the whistle went for the kick-off. They now hold the podium places, quite a leap for StanleyJosh, up from 13th to 3rd, less so for 4-point AccyTom18, 6= to 2nd, and just consolidation for Outback Ozzy, stretching his lead out to 9 points. SJ's was the only maxi .

The rest of the faithless were generally all riding together off the back of the pack, so mostly just closed the gap on the rest. Valairian (4 pts) and AngeB (3) made the best progress, up from 18th/19th to 15th/16th, with Ange overtaking Nige (of that ilk) in the process. For the record, the other 4 point deserters were Taypot, Kiwi John, Monkey Hanger and StevieR, with LongLostSon taking 3.

So, roll on the second leg of this Trans-Pennine Cup tie next Tuesday, with a 0-3 deficit. Somehow I don't see the boys going gung-ho in search of 4-0 should they get their noses in front. But you never can tell with football ...

On Stanley On!!
