Re: Pitch

Buzzer told me the contactor said there will be grass to cut in about two weeks the big problem is getting enough water on it, typical really just when we need some rain what happens "NOWT" ah well we will have to wait and see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but other issues are the control room and a million other jobs that need to be done as around the ground itself is like a tip so please feel free to donate an hour or two of time if you can spare it, Im sure all help would be gratefully received, barriers on away need painting, all the old advertising hoardings need removing, all the walkways need sweeping and the list goes on

Stanley Stadium gets a lick of paint with Intraining

http://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/g...%20picture.jpgAccrington Stanley Football Club have begun work on the stadium, painting all the terraces and iron works over the summer period and to help them in this mammoth task they have enlisted the help of national training provider Intraining (formally TWL).

With head offices based in Sheffield and over 80 sites across the UK, including centres in Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle, Intraining provides a number of programmes which offer employability skills and help to get people back into work.

Neala Barker Operations Manager at Accrington Stanley said "We would not be able to complete such a labour intensive task without the support of Intraining, we will have a team of 12 volunteers here for approximately 6 weeks. The team have proven to be really hard working and are all proud to be involved with the project.

"The club is supported tremendously by the local community and individual volunteers throughout the football season, and this time of the year is our chance to return the favour back to the community. We are thrilled that the club can be used as a platform for individuals to gain valuable experience that will help them back into employment."

Presumably they ran out of time. The best thing to help the pitch is to arrange for 50 volunteers to turn up all next week to paint the away end. You can guarantee doing that it will pee down all week :)

The first blades of the green stuff are starting to show.As for the painting the guys are getting there slowly but it,s a thankless task as there is so much to do.

What a joke, the ordinary man can't water his garden but the snobs can still fill their hot tubs and swimming pools.
