Tonights match

  Here we go again, after a clean start to the season, we have our first red card - Robbie Williams sent off towards the end of the Northwich game. All for it to end in a 3-3 draw.
Lets hope this is a quick blip on the horizon that does not manifest itself into an almighty monster. Lets keep it clean - for the sake of the fans and the club, so that we may advance up the football ladder to the league next season.

I doubt if Smithy would have been sent off.

I guess you'll never know.................

Personally I tihnk Smith is far better than Williams who was more of a utility player in your Unibond days if I remember rightly?

Accrington Stanley substitution: Lee McEvilly replaced by Jonathan Smith (tactical).
Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted ?????

Evil was limping and Robbie had just been sent off so understandable in the circumstances. Jonathan played well once he was on. Hope Evil's OK.

Re: Tonights match

Given the weather conditions, I thought most of the players were fantastic tonight - Mully, Craney, Evil, Gerrard and Jaggers in particular. We should have won easily.

I thought Cav had a great game, but wtf was he doing when he pushed their player in the back in the box? The ball was flying over everyone's head!

Having completely dominated the 2nd half, we were now on the back foot just because of one push in the back.

Rocky had a shocker. Their forwards rang rings around him in the first half and then he lunged in with a two-footed tackle in the box. He appeared to catch the ball properly, but you can't jump in with two feet in the box. An automatic (second) yellow card, so he was sent off and they had another penalty.

Coley was furious at his defence on Saturday and he should be again after tonight's performance. Two unbelievable errors of judgement by our defenders cost us the game.

Smithy looked ok, but it is Gerrard that we will really miss.

And as Shurm said, a good number of Stanley supporters were there and once again the home fans were completely outsung. Sounds great when you have a roof!

Full marks to the Northwich fans who, when Stanley were singing 'Going down, going down', came straight back with 'So are we, so are we!'. 10 points deduction or not, let's all wish them well and that they can sort out a swift and satisfactory end to their current problems.

Central defence is our Achilles' heel. The score and the farcical defending were identical to last season at Northwich. We are such a good side going forward that the flaw usually remains undiscovered but, against a good side or when Lady Luck intervenes against us, we get found out big time. The core of our defence currently is an 18 year-old lad however good (and he looks good for sure) who will leave us soon and a converted midfielder with a degree of pace. Unfortunately, pace is low on the list of necessary attributes for a good centre half. One who can read the game and is experienced doesn't require it. It's no good stating this I know.....all the management have to do is point to the league table at the moment. Let's hope it remains that way but I have my doubts about that.
