Certainly hasn't been the player before his injury don't know if anyone agrees but and who could blame him seems a bit reluctant to mix it and seems to feel every touch on his or around the ankle.

Agree Andy, not been 100% :(

I do though think that half of the times he 'feels' a tackle, it is (in his own words) "dark arts" ;)

Looking to the future 3 Stanley stalwarts are nearing the twilight of their careers McConville 32, the brilliant Hughes 34, Conneelly our skipper 32 all 3 have been brilliant at times for Stanley backbone of several teams, but all will be a year older and Coley will be looking beyond them natural it comes to all players, the key question is for the management is how longer they will be first choice selection,s and in Sean,s case is he worth another deal big decisions in the progress of the club.

C’mon, guys, how many on here wouldn’t want to be 32 again? These guys are mere whipper-snappers!
But this season the injury crisis appears to have required many to play on when they should have been able to take a short rest.

You are right Cashy, the injury towards the end of the season was the start to me :(

Took an age to get back, all the Covid stuff, then the nonsense red card, plus the stupid/silly ban, all in all, he has not had enough of a run........

Add to that, the words of our friend Yonmon and we are about there...

Regardless STILL:-
  • Scored our first(and second)ever League 1 goal,
  • Played the most League games,
  • Only ever Captain to lose 7-0 :D

All together now......"Sean McConville, Seany Sean McConville..."

these lads must be reaching an age where they either drop down a couple of leagues or move on to another part of their lives. its a sad day for most fans when they do go especially if they have to drift into lower part time football for financial reasons. not everyone is kevin ellison by a long way and i hope all three have something to fall back on once they have to retire on their terms.

Sleep well Olde friend.....

Draw on, sweet Night, best friend unto those cares
That do arise from painful melancholy;
My life so ill through want of comfort fares,
That unto thee I consecrate it wholly.

Sweet Night, draw on; my griefs, when they be told
To shades and darkness, find some ease from paining;
And while thou all in silence dost enfold,
I then shall have best time for my complaining.

there is but how many are capable of taking a good one. add corners to that as well. at times with pundits on the box you,d think taking a dead ball kick was some out of the ordinary skill that only a few posess.

His set pieces in general are very good and yes, he takes most of them, but as well as Coley trusting him, you hear plenty of praise from his team mates, whilst commentating on iFollow - must mean something :)

As you know I would never stoop so low as to make such scurrilous remarks about the lad who is still exceeding all that is expected of him in Stanley's midfield !

Don't like to quote on myself ,BUT was my judgement unerring as far as Sean ( or Seany ! as I like to call him !) Is concerned or what ?.
This afternoon's performance just went to underline my opinion perfectly !.
Nothing more to say except WELL DONE THE REDS !.:alright:

He's right here... and he's not biting !.
What is more ( and I am not seeking any bouquets here ! ) , AccyMad is perfectly right to ignore the jibes and barbs which bombard her posts !.
Tonight's words from her , were both heartwarming and a joy to read... as usual !.
So there !..

Coleman Out.

Only plays because he is Jimmy’s nephew.

I want Beattie in charge and James Gray as chairman. Don’t care if we’re in the Lancashire League. I did not abandon Blackburn or Burnley in the noughies for this.

Good interview with Sean :)

Might just be for the cameras, but he looked like that goal meant a lot for him and he has had a bad time of it since that bad injury at the end of whatever season it was....

Just hope that we see the 'old' Sean again next season :)

:) :) :)

I thought that I had been warned to never mention ageism ever again
where 'der wunderkind ' was concerned... and here you go with another 'Old Sean' reference !. ..:do-one:

Hope that Sean gets a good rest and has a full pre-season, getting him back to his best is key to our promotion push next season :)
