Re: Former Players!
That’s correct!.
Hopefully he can progress to his A licence. It’s a career move, had options, but could be a good move. Remember you heard it here first, him and joycy Accis joint managers in ten years time !!! :) |

Re: Former Players!
Just been reading about Phil Edwards getting a bad knee injury in pre-season training with Bury, that needed an operation which apparently went quite well.
I hope that he gets fit soon and that he can have a couple of good seasons before 'ano domini' catches up with him like the rest of us. 'Sun Bed' Phil was one of my favourite players during his years here at Stanley!:alright: Good Luck Phil! |
Re: Former Players!
Oh bless him, yeah - a definite favourite & if he's at a loose end would welcome him back any day of the week :)

Jimmy Dunne joins Hearts on loan, that's a blow !
|
Re: Former Players!
Jimmy Dunne joined Hearts on a 6 month loan deal.
|
Re: Former Players!
Snap.
|
Re: Former Players!
He would have done better coming back to us. Standard of football probably not massively different and Burnley would have a kept a closer eye on his development. Not a great move for the lad.
|
Re: Former Players!
Was just thinking the same Tom, bit surprised they've sent him over the border - thought Burnley rated him higher than that
|
Re: Former Players!
They put a loan fee on his head.
They agreed it we didn’t. It’s the £200k Andy’s been referring to on Twitter. |
Re: Former Players!
Typical of the dingle management.
|
Re: Former Players!
Feel sorry for him if thats true, the club have put money ahead of his development despite giving him a new contract. Sending out all sorts of messages there.
|
Re: Former Players!
Thought as much - does it not amount to covering his wages? Or did they want that as well?
|

Re: Former Players!
Let's move on. I think Ross Sykes will be every bit as good as Jimmy Dunne. It would have been unfortunate if Dunne had returned to us - and relegated Sykes to a place on the bench. I think it's now time to allow Sykes to develop as our own player.

Poor old Burnley were one of the ten or so Premier clubs that would have made an operating profit even if every home game had been played behind closed gates. The Premier League Inc. has reached the point where fans at a game are no longer necessary. |
Re: Former Players!
Every loan deal is different;
It's basically down what the loaning club wants and ASFC accepting these terms. ASFC have have brilliant deals ( with a very popular player) and some not so good details when we've slightly "panicked". Yes clubs can dictate a player pays by increasing the amount of money we have to pay ( sort of a fine) |

Re: Former Players!
Loans take on a mixture of agreements.
Some are happy to let the player go - but insist he plays or gets recalled. Some want his wages paying to the parent club by the loaning club. Some will share the cost ......... Dunne is an asset so like it or not if his services are needed there's a price to pay. The Jocks didn't grumble. What if during the loan he were to get a serious injury for instance ? |

I would suggest that the rigours of league one first team football week in week out as opposed to the leisurely pursuit in the under 23s exposes players to greater risk.

Changing the subject, did I see Tom Aldred's on loan at Motherwell?
|
Re: Former Players!
I notice Ipswich are bottom of the Championship with 2 points. Kayden Jackson has only scored once (in the League Cup against a lower league team). On Saturday KJ and Janoi Donacien only got mentioned twice apiece in the entire defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on BBC Livetext.

Yes! Occurred to me later I'd forgotten to mention it! The one decent chance Kayden had against Wednesday went down the pan when last season loan Jordan Thorniley took the ball off his foot. He's a regular for Wednesday now along side Tom Lees. |
Re: Former Players!
Jackson had a header and a shot on goal in the 1-1 draw at home to Norwich and got subbed after 84 mins. Donacien didn't figure in 11 or on bench for whatever reason.

I remember scoring a couple of 'Blinders' with my left foot too when I just flung my left foot at the ball and caught it right....Whooosh!!!!! Sure, the more versatile players get moved around a bit and are often played 'out of position' but the Managers know who is doing a really good job for them even if the fans don't always get it! Basically .......players have to be prepared to play wherever the Manager wants then to play! And the best players do it well! |

Re: Former Players!
Maybe Stanley might be getting Donacien back!
Ipswich sack Paul Hurst and the article on the Beeb web site suggests it's because the 'lower league' players he bought to replace those released from Ipswich can't cut it in the Championship. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45972183 |
Re: Former Players!
Doubt that very much Janoi will no doubt get another club if released imho.
|
Re: Former Players!
He could possibly come back temporarily though Cashy as technically he's still on loan cos they ain't paid fthim yet . . . . .
|
Re: Former Players!
Exackerley, AccyMad.
I was only joking but he is, presumably, still a Stanley player. Guess it depends on what the deal was with Ipswich. Was he loaned for a fixed period or permanently (can you loan someone permanently?) until his own paperwork is sorted? |

I find ANY Premier League club that charges a loan fee are an absolute disgrace to be honest. The amount of money that's awash in the top flight is outrageous and to "charge" to borrow a player is dreadful.

Dallison came with Hornby-Forbes on loan from Brighton. He was a big lad, centre back, but, knowing Stanley, he probably was put in at left back. Sat with his dad at Oxford but didn’t see enough of the lad to make any judgement. Hornby-Forbes was in the giant-killing Newport team in last weekends Cup match.
