Re: Former Players!
What I found strange about JB Cashy, was his obsession on the long ball game.
He wanted to go route one ALL the time, could understand if that's the level he played at,but it wasn't. Did he not trust the players to get it down and play?,very strange as when he played he always wanted it to feet |

morecambe said here wasn't good enough before we signed him
|
Re: Former Players!
There was a young striker training who was released from the Crarn.
Would it have been Adam Morgan ? Anyway we have now signed Rhys Turner. |
Re: Former Players!
Yes, we did release Adam Morgan - hardly got a game for us tbh.
Now, can't quite remember if it was yourself Morecambe Red or Christie's Child who kept harping on about Shay McCarten signing for yourselves but please would you toddle off to ShrimpsVoices & let them know they can stop holding their breath - Shay's signed a new 2year deal & is going nowhere :) |

Re: Former Players!
Wolves' keeper Carl Ikeme who we had on loan for three games in 2004 is now a regular in the Nigeria team and, from what I can find online, has consistently kept clean sheets for them.
|
Re: Former Players!
Josh, who has squad no 11, came on as a 69th minute sub in Rangers' 2-0 cup win at Motherwell and was yellow-carded.
|
Re: Former Players!
no crooks in that squad
|
Re: Former Players!
Believe Crooksy is still struggling after his last injury, hasn't been able to train properly yet
|
Re: Former Players!
I'm very impressed with Deano (Winnard)
He has certainly tightened what was a shocking defence. Only one goal conceded in 4 pre-season games and that was scored by Andre Gray last night. Wakefield has looked good too. |
Re: Former Players!
Not much of a shock yon, Dino has consistently been our best defender for years, and Long John Silver would probably improve your defence.:D
|
Re: Former Players!
Jack Phillips played for Skem last night. Think he only made the single appearance for us in the JPT last season before he was released?

Douglas Bader also would have got a game last season but with Deano at centre back all seems well in the world. Peter Murphy due back from injury in September and he will have to battle Deano for the captains armband. |

Re: Former Players!
Langazi has always been an head scratcher for me, he played 10 games for Acci, looked the part, got a move etc ...,but stats show him only starting 30+ games in a 7 year pro career, with just 1 goal.
Doesn't add up for me,he looked a tremendous prospect,maybe he will come again,strange |
Re: Former Players!
Like a certain Mr.Crooks, it needs the right manager to bring out some player's potential, F19.
Time will tell if the potential many (including me) saw in Linganzi in his brief spell at Stanley can be realised, but it would have been nice to have been able to see what Professor Coleman could have done for him. |
Re: Former Players!
Released by Blackburn after injury if memory serves?
Gillingham released after injury limited his appearances, he then disappeared entirely - tells a story unfortunately. I think we were lucky that we saw probably the only uninterrupted period of his career |

When challenged nobody has ever managed to point out the sectarian lines but it just is however that's probably a debate too far for this forum. Infact it's a song celebrating the victory at the battle of the boyne. The quote in the tweet is part of a version of that god awful don't send me home song and only relates to Windass as it vaguely rhymes with Sash. |

Pompey have brought Baker in from MK dons and Lalkovitch from Walsall. They play either side of Roberts and behind d our target man Smith. Danny Rose who arrived from Northampton played at the base with Doyle. Linganzi just was not on their wavelength and he has not been offered another chance. I wish him luck in finding a club, maybe you guys can inspire him. It just seems he was not at the races with us |
Re: Former Players!
We've still got the no. 6 shirt available - doubt we could afford Linganzi, although it's awfully close to the start of the season & he hasn't got a club yet . . . . .??

Your Accy old boys were vanquished by the mighty Shrimps last night.
I think only Roberts made the starting line-up and he looks a shadow of his former self. Paul Cook not popular with the Pompey fans at the moment ! |

But to be correct, Morecambe did have two Accy old boys on the pitch compared with the one for Pompey. So it was more a case of Accy Old Boys B 2 - Accy Old Boys C 0.;) |
Re: Former Players!
Quote:
We have 2 further Accy old boys nearly ready to return to the fray in Dean Winnard and Peter Murphy. Add to this our takeover which finally looks to be on the brink of happening and we Shrimps are smiling again. Rotherham , Blackpool and Portsmouth in 7 days is a decent achievement. |

Bit like the 0-0 when Acci played at Pompey. Portsmouths players and system would work well at the top of division one,but teams now sit deep and let the CBS have the ball, not sure if that's the way to get automatic promotion |

Morecambe's team have some of the fastest lads l have seen in league two,but equally the widemen don't consistantly help the fullbacks. Michael Rose will be key for you this seen, like Connelly is for Acci. Tighten up defensively and they will do ok. I think Acci will finish in top ten,I sure of that !! |

I am hoping/expecting Dean Winnard to improve the defence and Peter Murphy to play alongside Michael Rose as holding midfield players. We may have to withstand cash offers for Tom Barkuizen before the "window" closes. |
