If the sending off was controversial then i would hate to see what is considered a deserved sending off. It was an out of control kong fu kick and in inch higher his boot would have hit the forward's windpipe and could have killed the guy.

Re: Shrew's Match Thread

We were superb for the first 15 minutes.
Wasn’t sure about the sending off but after the game the lads seemed to think it was a foul with his foot dangerously high.
Could have been a yellow but somehow the Lino then decides it’s stopping a goal scoring opportunity.
Went to sleep for the goal ....... 11 v 11 we would have won no doubt about that.
Delighted to see Jordan giving Beckles fits .....

didn,t go but from the highlights only i thought he was a bit unlucky. hardly in the bruce lee kung foo kick catergory.

Re: Shrew's Match Thread

Very much Bruce Lee is what I thought it looked like....but I think he just made the wrong decision in the heat of the moment to challenge with his foot so high and missed. Deffo a red.

Their goal looked like a header from very close to the goal. Could Maxted not have come off his line for it or is that being hyper critical?

We went to Bantams v Mackems yesterday. 19,000, two sendings off, missed penalty... very entertaining game. We should beat Bradford easily enough but Sunderland will be close. They look good up front.

If Billy had taken that assault from their keeper would we have expected the same action ...... ? Definitely.

But would we have got it? Not so sure . . . . .
Wasn't there but from the highlights looked like Connor was going to kick the loose ball, ok his foot was high but doesn't look a deliberate foul, to me Angol saw the opportunity & ran into Connor making it look worse than it was.
If it was such a straightforward decision, why did the liner & ref take so long to deliberate over it??

Re: Shrew's Match Thread

Simple to me, if foot is that high, some refs will give yellow some red, there didn't seem intent to me so i would have said yellow, but when yeh got a clown in charge its gonna be red.

Serious foul play - last man - goalscorng opportunity.
Not saying I agree but that’s the decision.
Probably a three match ban as well.
Still say if it was the other way round we’d be squealing if the keeper got way with it.
The ref was poor for both sides.
On to the next one.
Up to Maxted to make Coley have a tough decision to make when suspension served.
