Re: the last 4 games
Not a great deal to worry about we have mainly difficult games but those below us play each other a few times. imho
|
Re: the last 4 games
I don't see Bradford, Southend or Walsall catching us but unless we get a couple more points any of the other teams can catch us, it could come down to goal difference and we are pretty good in that department. It's going to be a game by game nervy watch. 3 point off Luton would be more than welcome.
|
Re: the last 4 games
being unbeaten for the next 3 games should also see us safe. luton seem to be stuttering a bit now, you never know how doncaster are going to perform and we seem to do ok against plymouth at home.
|
Re: the last 4 games
Plymouth is the one. Beat them job done. All our other games are tricky to say the least.

Re: the last 4 games
I think this weekend’s win has come at a great time for the lads with a boost in confidence, and with Luton losing their unbeaten run, all I can say is BRING ON SATURDAY!!
|
Re: the last 4 games
Agree Plymouth is the big one but to beat our friends from Luton would be chuffin brilliant

Re: the last 4 games
We're planning to come to the match tomorrow but Dany's article at
https://accringtonstanley.co.uk/2019...v-clash-coley/ says that it's 'all ticket'. I've not seen anything about this anywhere else so does it just mean that we have to buy tickets as usual before going to the turnstiles? Or do we have to buy in advance? Can anyone help, please? |

Re: the last 4 games
Results except our own been going our way lately, but that couldn't last forever. Saw that some people on the forum were happy with todays's results, but I am not. Wins for Rochdale, Wycombe and Southend were not quite cancelled out by defeats for Scunthorpe and Plymouth. Plymouth's home defeat was good news of course, but we still probably need to beat them.
I think we are safe if we beat Plymouth but if we do not it is not looking so good. If that is our only point we will most likely go down. A result tomorrow seems unlikely, but could make a huge difference. Walsall and Bradford will go down. But Plymouth (if they get a result against us) and Southend have better goal difference, and Scunny have Bradford at home. That's why even a single point at Doncaster could be worth celebrating. |
Re: the last 4 games
I fancy a point against Donny, but that means nowt i fancied summat against Luton.
|
Re: the last 4 games
Some very weird arguments (and personal abuse) on this forum of late.
I think it’s a bit futile to question Coley’s management and attempt to pick out selected things you don’t like. Got to take the all round package and on that basis we are so lucky to have Coleman. Maybe we could get a manager with a plan A, B and C, who uses 3 subs every match. But that means sod all. Anyway, hopefully we get will something v Plymouth but if not then it doesn’t really matter. We will still be in the same league as Bradford and a league above Stockport and Notts Co. |
Re: the last 4 games
I think Gregor is correct, I’ve been reading the posts on results and thinking I’m being way too pessimistic when others are upbeat.
A point tomorrow would be brilliant, but if not then a draw with Plymouth sends both teams down with maybe Plymouth having a gasp at home to Scunthorpe. Playing Bradford gives Wimbledon and Scunthorpe massive opportunities which I think both will take.. |
Re: the last 4 games
"Anyway, hopefully we get will something v Plymouth but if not then it doesn’t really matter"
Oh yes it does - well to some fans it does. |

Am I right in saying we now only need Wimbledon to drop points and were safe?

Re: the last 4 games
One of Scunthorpe or Plymouth must finish below us because they play each other.
|
Re: the last 4 games
We need two points to be absolutely statistically safe. But it needs a dreadful combination of results to see us go down now (as I’ve said on the match thread)
|
Re: the last 4 games
Good work Chimer just read the match thread.

But a Stanley win on Sat, a defeat for Southend or a non win for Wimbledon will do it. |
Re: the last 4 games
I still think we need at least a point on Saturday, but after so few wins at home a win would be a thanks to the fans for coming all season.

Spartacus, youre clearly a troll. You come on here out of nowhere and start slagging off long-respected forum legends on every thread in an attempt to get a rise. Look, Cashman may be the ultimate keyboard warrior, but hes our keyboard warrior! Can we not just have a single conversation without people slandering one another and focus on the simple truth - regardless of survival (probable) or relegation (unlikely) that weve finished this season in the highest finish weve ever seen! Well done to Coley and the boys. |
Re: the last 4 games
Thing is our home form aint been good this season, pitch certainly aint done us no favours, a win against Plymouth would be WONDERFUL.

I also would like young Smyth to stick around if possible, got great pace and will only get better i reckon, but doubt it will happen.

Can't see any of the loan players sticking around.

Re: the last 4 games
Barlaser struggling to agree terms with Newcastle.
Lots of clubs interested in him, both Championship and abroad. Paul Lambert has already come out and said he wants JD to be at Ipswich next year. Appreciate can't take it as gospel but JD happy to work with him over summer. Don't know about Smyths situation but imagine he will go to a higher club on loan or feature for QPRs matchday squad next year. Armstrong not really made an impact. Gibson a strange one. We were close to signing permanently then Coley backs out and only has on loan. Out of contract in summer and Newcastle happy for him to leave. Noticed he's not been mentioned in the 'injury' list for Plymouth game on website. Imagine dropped? Fitness must be an issue. |
Re: the last 4 games
Quote:
Would also love him to stay, but why would he ??? In and out of team when clearly has the talent. Personally can't see any of the loanees staying. |
Re: the last 4 games
I cant really but would love to snare Smyth.
|
Re: the last 4 games
Its going to be an interesting summer.
Coley is going to have to generate funds and speculate to accumulate. Somebody will have to go that generates a fee - maybe more than one. Its who comes in through the door that's going to be intriguing. |
Re: the last 4 games
Quote:
Josh, Newcastle are having a clear out that includes Barlaser. He wont be there next season - and I cant see us satisfying his wage demands. |
Re: the last 4 games
Re Gibson ....... I think its health as well as fitness.
Re Janoi ........ definitely back to Ipswich. Re Smyth ......... I think he'll get a squad place at QPR next season unless someone comes in with decent offer. Re Armstrong ..... maybe back on loan ? |
Re: the last 4 games
which players could be sold for a decent fee?
Sykes, Johnson, Clark, Kee and Finley are the only ones who would raise any significant dosh I'd assume? too soon to sell Sykes and Finley? Can't see Kee going Presumably it's Johnson and Clark? |

Sam Hart left back at Blackburn been on loan at Southend think he's contract is up this summer could be a target.
