okey dokey.

I assume you'll be near a huge flag with "Stanley Ultras" written on it, right?

I'd better be careful coming back from the tea-van then, as I've heard he goes down very easily.

it was been broadcast that mr prendergast was coming to both the wigan game and smithy's testimonial, but sadly his commitments with blackpool stopped him from attending. I hope we do see rory tonight but in the nicest possible way, i'll believe it when i see it!

Hope he is there though.

Adam , I must own up .

About four years ago I introduced the ellipsis (for that is its name , as I'm sure you'll recall from your several years of studying the English language) , into my correspondence on the Official ASFC forum which preceded our current - and independent - virtual organ .
Before that it was noticeable by its absence .

I felt , and still feel , that it is one of the most useful pieces of punctuation for those who wish to post on forums such as ours . It helps the reader to imagine a pause in the "spoken" sentence and it creates a sense of what actors and comedians know as "timing" in the delivery of a line .

Since its introduction , the ellipsis has been wholeheartedly embraced by other correspondents to both the former and the present forums , and I'm pleased to have been instrumental in its adoption .

Of course , some posters will eschew its use altogether while others will wear the damned thing out completely .

Overall , though , I think it's a Good Thing and should be incorporated into our miniature masterpieces of prose whenever it is needed , but always with the understanding that there should be a maximum of three points . . .
