Agents' Fees

"The latest publication of spending on agents' fees by Football League clubs has revealed that clubs committed a total of £21.7m during the 2011/12 season.

Championship clubs accounted for £18.7m of this total, with League 1 and League 2 clubs spending £1.8m and £0.9m respectively. Clubs committed to pay agents in 702 (22%) of the 3,144 player transactions that took place.

Five clubs did not spend any money on agents’ fees during 2011/12 (Hartlepool United, Accrington Stanley, AFC Wimbledon, Barnet and Crewe Alexandra) while a further 22 clubs spent less than £25,000."

Well done us!

Parasites ............ (some people think; so I understand from the media; I'm not expressing any personal view, you understand ........)

By the way, who had the other £0.3 million? (18.7 + 1.8 + 0.9 is 21.4, not 21.7!)

I think almost ALL players have one Dave. Chippendale's agent got him a trail here and it paid off.

Whether they all take a fee is tough to judge.

I think in cases like that the player himself has to pay the agent. The club will basically tell the player what they are prepared to pay him, up to him then how much he wants to give to his leech

Re: Agents' Fees

i can understand a Premier League "star" wanting an agent to sort out his various endorsements and supermarket openings - and those agents probably deserve their 10% or whatever. But what on earth does a basement league player need with an agent? Are they not able to send letters to the few clubs who might be on their radar?

serious question to be honest, Football 19 perhaps you could ask Deano what n agent actually does for a League 2 player?

Perhaps those who are semi-literate need a agent?
