Re: andy mangan released from bury
When Mangan went back to Bury after his loan spell here, Coleman did say that he would try & get him back in the summer and now that he's a freebie I reckon that will happen. Whether he's good enough or not, only time will tell although I did think when he was here that he seemed to have improved his game. Maybe get him on non-contract terms to start with & see how he does, that way there's nowt lost if he doesn't work out.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
David Brown had the demon job, he was the club PFA rep, just like welchy was last season!!!
To be honest I think we have been too sentimental about certain players, many proved to be not quite good enough for this division last season, yet several were kept on. Finally Coley is facing up to the fact that at this level you have to be ruthless and cannot afford to carry players. Its all part of his and the clubs learning curve. The steep bit is still to come though in trying to get the caliber of player needed to take us forward, hopefully Coley will hit the ground running on this one.

It's clear that the Stanley can not really afford to spend their 'Player Fund' on others in the Ian Craney price bracket....(was he worth it ???.......)..so young players who have demonstrated some potential, and in my opinion Andy Mangan has shown some promise, should, if they become available. not be ignored...if the price is right!.
If he was to make a return to the FES....to learn the Striker's skills from King Paul...( Employed as his 'Personal Trainer?).....then just maybe the acquisition might reap some rewards, whilst making some financial sense !.
(These fascinating threads should keep us all on our toes
until the new season arrives !).....keep 'em up!
'What me worry'...not with the promise of LEAGUE Football.......and a NEW STAND(?) .. just around the corner !.

We've had this before Craney cost us virtually nothing to get back from Swansea so the question is "Is Craney worth virtually nothing", the answer off his form over the last two months is "YES".

Re: andy mangan released from bury
The Craney transfer fee is very misleading. It made people think that the club has/had money to spare.

True.
Some people need to realise that we're not going to get an Aaron McLean. We have no money!
Mangan was definitely a better player when he came back on loan. He's young enough to improve. Why not sign him?

Re: andy mangan released from bury
Not sure that Mangy is better than Leighton but he's a damn sight more likely to get in the team
