Re: andy mangan released from bury
i dont think it would be that much as a backward step.he would still be a better sub than the ones weve had this season.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
Shaun Whalley, David Brown & Leighton McGivern released.
Mangan becomes available.
Hardly rocket science.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
He aint even worth having as a sub - we need some ambition, no more re-signing old players.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
We need to sign players we can afford. Mangan would be affordable and would be better than those we've released. He might be perfect, but he fits our budget.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
I totally agree with Sam F. What's the point of having a clean sweep to bring in players who have already been tried and found wanting ? I wish the lad well but he's not good enough. JC described him as an impact player coming off the bench but his loan spell proved that he's not improved to the point where he's any better than those released this week.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
when he was here properly I thought him not good quite enough but a good impact player - he changed games when he came on and that is a fact. But his temperament let him down big time.
Since he has been gone his temperament seems to have improved but when we got him on loan I thought his game had improved a hell of a lot, he had learnt to look up and put his foot on the ball occasionally rather than just running into the terraces.
Maybe a backward step but one that I reckon might pay dividends this time out.

Pointless I'd rather we had kept McGiven.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
Andy Parrish (right back) has also been released by Bury, much to many fans disapointment, as he was a very promising young lad, with a great attitude and work ethic.
You could do worse than sign him.

Re: andy mangan released from bury
Why we would we want burys old players like Parrish! If hes no good for bury , why would he be good at stanley ! We need a forward player from a high league i reckon, one with experience and goals under his belt! However that is the task JC has to do , but i know he will do it well!

Re: andy mangan released from bury
The ONLY player JC should be interested in from Bury is Andy Bishop...NOT Mangan that is a backward step...a shame he let David Brown go coz I feel he was asked to play in several positions other than he was used to...and coped well...but STILL didn't get picked later..obviously a clash of personalities with the manager ...no surprise there...I hope Coleman can get a half decent defence this season...Kempson did well...if he becomes available.....the player they want is MICHAEL BOULDING from Mansfield...but I expect a Championship side will snap him up!!

Re: andy mangan released from bury
David Brown was not good enough at this level. I don't think personalities had anything to do with it.... he just wasn't up to the job.
