According to a Rochdale fan on another forum....

Rory Prendergast will also be leaving when his deal on the 21st January runs out. I am quite disappointed about that, he has done a great job when he has come on but basically Flitcroft has said that we can't afford to keep him so he has to go.

Will he be heading this way?

I loved Rory when he was with us, was just a bit put off by some of his antics at Halifax, but I would have him back in the blink of an eye if I thought he could do a job for us, but not sure if he could?? But I am prepared to admit I am wrong!!

Wouldn't mind betting that Rory asked to be released the minute big thug McEvilly turned up at Rochdale - those two have got quite a history! He must've wondered what he'd done to get landed with him again
I for one would love to see him back but am resigned to the fact that unfortunately it's not gonna happen (then again Eric is giving free beer away this weekend - who'd have thought that would ever happen )

He did well for us off the bench this season and would be a decent signing, we are carrying a large squad though and needed to cut down.

Although Hill has revealed in the Rochdale Observer that we are in discussions over a permanent deal for Evil which is good news for both parties.

It's just been on Sky Sports News that Prendergast has been released by Dale. Has the prospect of getting Roberts back on loan gone "dead in the water" so to speak?? Would Coleman see the return of Prendergast as a viable alternative ?? To think that IF either Prendergast or Roberts returned,even on short term deals,that Coleman would have the chance to play two out and out wide men on either flank (Ala Prendergast or Roberts to play on the left with Toddy on the right) With Roscoe's pace and Mullin's aerial ability complemented with wide men who are proven to provide quality service wouldn't that just whet the appetite !!
