ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

Can anyone assist?

Does the local council tourist/investment board/department advertise the club when seeking new national and international opportunities?
If it does, any examples of what they use in the promotion of the local area?

Seeking new national and international opportunities? Like the council branching out and running local government in Kent and South Korea?

I doubt it.

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

Most pro active councils and council leaders are pro active in trying to attract investment especially new companies to the area.

Are you telling me Hydburn don't do this?

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

Good point but my query was so they use the club as part of their promotion material?

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

So why don't you just ask Hyndburn Council directly? Pretty obvious really.

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

Trawling through Hyndburn's website for 5 minutes I suspect the answer to your first question, DAVO, is no. Hope I'm wrong.
There doesn't seem to be any 'tourist' information.
The 'economic development' team isn't even in Accy, but at Shadsworth.
It seems that any promotion as regards inward investment is done on behalf of groups of councils (e.g. Pennine Lancashire) or through the County Council. I guess, therefore, if such joint bodies were plugging little Stanley they'd also have to plug Burnley, Rovers, and Preston NE.
Mind, you plugging the 'birthplace' of professional football wouldn't be a bad extra selling point to some foreign investors.

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

don,t think any council in the country,s tourist boards promote their local pro. football or rugby league clubs but might be wrong. nothing is mentioned in my neck of the woods as saltaire and the brontes are the main ones.

There are contact details on that page so I've messaged them asking why Stanley and Morecambe are omitted. Maybe if you (and others) did the same it might have more impact...

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

So Trafford Council does not promote Manchester United? Good research.

Maybe promote Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe and Rossendale United also, if other councils promote teams from neighbors.

Re: ASFC And Hyndburn Tourist Board

Knowing how many Councils operate these days I wouldn't be surprised if the reason Visit Lancashire features only some Lancashire clubs is that those clubs have paid for it. But I've emailed them anyway to suggest they have missed off one of the 'iconic' names in English football.
