And last year they changed the rules saying that this Mickey Mouse competition didn't count as first team games so I'm guessing the same applies this year and games in it won't count as part of bans.

Last year it seemed to be a stand-alone competition when it came to discipline but the EFL website at https://www.efl.com/clubs-and-compet...--regulations/ now says
'The Competition is a ‘First Team Competitive Match’ for the purposes of the Football Associations Regulations for Disciplinary Procedures.'
