Re: chesterfield v accy

Don't really care much about the competition, but beating a team from a higher division so emphatically on their home turf can only give our boys a massive boost in confidence.
Great to see GTF grab his first goal for Stanley. I'm sure there will be more to come. Bl*#^y marvellous!

It's reported that Bradford City got round the 'five first team players' rule by sustituting their goalie after just three minutes.

Re: chesterfield v accy

As things stand, Wolves have two wins and Crewe and Accy have one each. So, to progress, it looks like we'll have to beat Wolves at Molyneux. If Crewe then win at Chesterfield, that would leave three teams on six points each. Does anyone know how the top two are determined? Does anyone care?

Chesterfield beat Wolves so all teams are on 3 points now, not sure how top 2 determined but think it would be goal difference etc?

A surprisingly enjoyable evening in Derbyshire. Stanley played quite simply samba football and the pressing and harassing of the opposition when 3-0 and 4-1 up respectively was very encouraging.

One home fan commented to me that their performance made us look like "bloody Real Madrid."

Terry Gornell rolled back the years ad became his unstoppable 2011 self. Special mention to young Mr Sykes who put a great shift in.

Thanks, AS. I thought Wolves beat Chesterfield but was wrong. So, simply, if we win at Molyneux, we progress to the next stage.

Re: chesterfield v accy

Win or Draw Pens Win and we finish 1st or 2nd

Draw and Pens Lose and we come 3rd or 4th.

What an exciting last round this format has provided, with a draw meaning an all or nothing penalty shoot out at 90 mins.

Their manager was in praise of Stanley's efforts, instead of coming out with the usual "i locked them in the dressing room for an hour after the game" After we tub someone.
