No, they'll be safe now McConville's not taking the free kicks. (sorry, couldn't resist, only joking).

Do they, or have they ever held car boots around the ground in the close season? Those hard surfaces look ideal; sellers behind the Clayton End and punters parking behind the Coppice End. Don't know how popular they are these days but they can bring in some extra money for the club and can be held without the need for planning permission if it's restricted to about 26 days a year.

Re: Clayton End development?

Hold the presses - according to its website, Hyndburn Borough Council has the SOLE right to hold markets in the town! Presumably only a registered charity would get permission?

Re: Clayton End development?

Do you really think it will be getting demolished with no plans of anything being rebuilt?

Re: Clayton End development?

Don't know the exact details of the planning consent but, if the description of development included words "demolition of existing structure" then carrying out that work should 'implement' the approval, and thus 'secure' the erection of the new stand at any date in the future without needing to renew the planning consent.

Hey Mr Baldy - on twitter you wrote "People moaning because it's been announced that Cowshed is being demolished but not announced anything replacing it #AccyWebMentality"

Surely that doesn't refer to Lemur's innocuous remark does it?

Re: Clayton End development?

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to put the new stand in it's place. In defence of the local Council around here over many years. The local Council has been more helpful to the club than most other Councils would have been to their own clubs. It is a small Council and a small club working together for the retention and promotion of the club. The Council have little or no money but do use whatever they have to help. If there was to be a car boot at the club I can't see anybody bothering. The real thing that we need to look at is why there is so much investment in a new stand which would not increase capacity. An illogical step.

Why would we want to increase capacity can't fill it now but Andy is trying to improve the stadium and the match day experience, but some people are,not happy about it and try and find problems.
