Constructive ideas
Lot of talk about lack of support/apathy, but what are we doing to address it? Anyone got any ideas of how to attract a few extra bodies - i'll give a couple for starters:
Free bus from Accy town centre to the ground before the game (sponsored by the publicans/transport companies)
Happy hours in the club/local pubs immediatley before or/and after the game
Invite teams from Sunday Leagues to attend each match - should boost the bar takings and one or two may get bitten with the same bug we've got
Have a Ladies day
They may be crap suggestions, but we must be able to come up with something between us all.
We need to build on what we've got - not keep harping on about what's wrong.

We got a new roof, & a bar on the Clayton End & a new school in Nepal. Beat an Ex-Premiership side away, had some more tarmac laid over the puddles & saw a 3 inch high header. ASFC Youth system saw youth inthe first team & more importantly we signed a "pub"! Remember 6 points off Morecambe & paid our highest fee ever for a player. All this & still "light" years ahead of Barrow & Worksop!!!!!

Re: Constructive ideas
I think the family tickets the club brought in were great ideas so something more along those lines because the financial aspect is something that will put a lot of people off coming to games.

Re: Constructive ideas
We are being unrealistic, we only gain new fans by winning games (cup runs/promotions) like all clubs. I went with a Radio Lancs reporter & a megaphone & 10 free tickets to Stanley when we were romping away with the League & still people wouldn't come....
Good marketing works of course, but it ainb't gonna double our attendance....
I've stood in town trying to persuade but footie fans havetheir clubs they don't change cause we want them to (now if someone could get rid of Rovers, Burnely, Man Utd, Everton & Liverpool we'd be fine)

Re: Constructive ideas
we need to designate a weekend and ALL contribute to the cause. Throw everything in the arsenal at the public of Accrington and see what happens. We could call it red and white fortnight ................

Re: Constructive ideas
we were discussing this last night, I have a few asian friends they know I love footie and were asking about Baines as one of my mates daughters went to the match on saturday because she had heard about Baines, however she was disappointed that he was not playing, but she did manage to say hello and get his autograph, she says her and her mates will definately be attending every home game from now on, its a start.

Hope Ricki wasn't the only reason they wanted to come and that they still give it a go now he's gone
