Re: Fixtures Out Now
So, the York away trip has now been switched from Bank Holiday Monday to the day after (7.45pm kick off). That's put paid to my travel plans. Apparently York requested it because of the high cost of policing. Funny, isn't it, how other clubs, including Stanley, manage to pay the cost of policing Bank Holiday fixtures?

Re: Fixtures Out Now
Yes just had it confirmed by the club. It would seem the Telegraph jumped the gun.. Just so happens they are right but the club only just got it confirmed themselves.
Tuesday gives the fans a better chance to get there.. York is along the main route to Scarborough and east coast holiday resorts.. Anyone who went to Scarborough last year will know what a nightmare that route is
Will be changed on the website in a mo

Re: Fixtures Out Now
Well, I can see your point about Bank Holiday traffic. Tuesday night's a sod if you're trying to get there (and back) from Stockport by public transport, though.

Re: Fixtures Out Now
I know thast the A59 is not the best way to go on a bankholiday, especially if it is a nice day as well. However i think it will put a few people off going it being on a tuesday evening with work etc. but might have gone if it was a bank holiday and make a day of it. I am planning to go any way, but if it ewas the monday i might have gone by train, and made i day of it (rather than drive) and it would also have allowed me to have a drink. On atuesday the train is diffo out if you want the one straughgt back to accrington (might be able to do it if you go via manchester, but have not checked this)

So Season 2007-2008 was a poor one ? Well....
We got a new roof, & a bar on the Clayton End & a new school in Nepal. Beat an Ex-Premiership side away, had some more tarmac laid over the puddles & saw a 3 inch high header. ASFC Youth system saw youth inthe first team & more importantly we signed a "pub"! Remember 6 points off Morecambe & paid our highest fee ever for a player. All this & still "light" years ahead of Barrow & Worksop!!!!!
