Re: four days left and ....
Everybody seems to be raving about Mannix. He only played one game for us - at Grimsby - in a game where five players made their Stanley debut, McGivern and Whalley plus Mannix, Dugdale, and Jacobson on loan, and Rocky was playing at right back. I must admit Mannix did stand out amongst the others, but I wouldn't like to pass an opinion on him without seeing him play a few more games. I hope he turns out to be as good as we all think he is. Doesn't say how long he has signed for, probably until the end of the season.

Re: four days left and ....
from what I remember reading about him last year, Liverpool would have kept him had it not been for his bad knee injury, same as King at Rovers. Top flight clubs would only take a slight gamble on the absolute top quality players if they had suffered injuries as those two have. The fact that they would have liked to have kept him but didn't says to me that he had the quality to challenge for a place in their squad but they didn't expect him to have become a regular first teamer. That's good enough for me, but what I saw of him at Grimsby was that he was able to create space so easily, and we have nobody who can do that at this moment.
If we play players in their correct positions then he would be the holding player and Craney the creator in a flat four midfield - that is two good footballing brains in the engine room so for me things are looking up there. We will of course still accomodate at least Harris or Proctor if not both of them by playing a five man midfield or shoving Craney up front.
there is now a five minute interview with Mannix online.

Re: four days left and ....
Excited about Aswad Thomas. Good news about Mannix - even better that it's a permanent deal.
Still hoping we can get an experienced centre half in who is closer to 30 than 40 and on a permanent deal!
We can dream eh

How long is "a permanent Deal", do you think that it lasts for ever? The deal must be for a specific period.

Re: four days left and ....
I still fear up front with no real back up for Mullin & Mcgivern, playing Craney may work?
But any injuries or suspensions and if we don't sign another striker it could prove costly

Re: four days left and ....
still got Boco who can play up front, could recall Evil, maybe Whalley would revel in the move infield like Gary Roberts did (on his way to Southend accroding to The Star this morning)

Re: four days left and ....
With luck Aswad will be another Godwin and we'll keep him to the end of the season.
Delighted to see David Mannix back on a permanent basis. I was one of the people privileged to see his Stanley debut at Grimsby and he looked a fine creative central midfielder and I was very disappointed when he went to Norway rather than Stanley.

Re: four days left and ....
didnt see mannix last year but read the reviews so am happy with that signing. if we play king harris/proctor craney todd across midfield with whalley and mullin up front i'd be happier still. as for defence hope the new lad is good. doughty defo good we should try and keep hold. anyone got news on sean webb tho?

Re: four days left and ....
whalley's pace is dangerous but his crossing leaves a lot to be desired. whilst regular play may improve this, the one thing we were lacking at darlo was pace in the final third. i believe whalley's pace in a central position can cause the opposition problems. mullin evil and mcgivern all seem quite similar in style and this season a lot of teams (esp the better ones) have figured our attack out before the game has even begun. whalley might unlock their defences with his pace.

I see Hartlepool have signed Przemyslaw Kazimierczak for an undisclosed fee.
