good players

to nites game some players played well, the argentinian players played very well but the player that stood out for me was darwens no2, if john coleman reads this tell him to come to a training session and have a look at him.

have to agree with you there grimps,1st half ws a bit dull but the 2nd half was far better.iwas also imressed with the argies thy could fit in very well.coleman shouldtake a proper look at darwens no 2

Not often I'll say this, but I actually agree. The Darwen number 2 was big, strong and covered the ground quickly. He's worth a look by the management.

Although I agree that the Darwen no. 2 was good, he only plays in the Vodkat league at the moment, will he cut it some 5 leagues higher up the ladder?

The position we're in at the moment, financially speaking, we have to scour the lower leagues and see if there are any 'rough diamonds' waiting to be discovered and polished. It's getting harder and harder to do this, though, as every lower league club is doing the same thing and clubs are looking for significant amounts of cash to sell their 'potential stars'.

The lad may not be good enough and the chances are he won't be, but he did seem to hold his own against the trialists we had playing for us.

the Pilkington fella at Stockport is from Darwen and was playing for Alsager. Two months after being spotted there he was being watched by scouts from Tottenham. Somehow Rovers missed a young lad on their doorstep but possibly they had seen him and decided he wasn't Premiership class and never would be - but League 2?

why not give the lad a trial,could he do any worse than some of colemans signings and he might just turn out to be what we need in defence.

Apparently we have a midfield player on trial with us who's a cracking little player. Can't say much more right now.
