James Beattie Leaves Club - Accrington Stanley FCAccrington Stanley FC Accrington Stanley Football Club and James Beattie have decided to terminate their contract by mutual consent with immediate effect. James stated: “It is with a hugely heavy heart that I decided to end this journey. I can never fully repay the faith and backing I got from the players, my staff and of course the fans who always gave me 100%. “I thank them from the bottom of my heart for granting me the opportunity and privilege to be part of your unique club.” Everyone at Accrington Stanley would like to thank James Beattie for all his efforts during his tenure at the club and wish him and his family all the best for the future. Assistant manager Paul Stephenson will take interim charge of the team for tomorrow’s home game with AFC Wimbledon.

Crikey. Can't say I'm disappointed with the news of Beattie's departure as I don't rate him as a coach/manager at all. However, this is extremely poor timing and I hope the young players can cope. I also hope JC can be brought back but expect that bridge to be burned unfortunately.
