Last Night's Game Against Great Harwood
Well what can I say, not a very inspiring performance. What excuses do we make now - difficult to motivate yourself in a friendly against lesser opposition when it is raining. Ninety minutes and three penalties and we still could not score a goal, put this together with last Saturday's performance and that is two games against lesser opposition and we have failed to score. In fact, in our last four first team friendlies we have only scored two goals, one penalty against Crewe and Cooky's lob against Wolves. This does not give me much confidence for the game against Burton Albion on Saturday, I hope things get better. At least the defence kept a clean sheet last night but they will have to be on the ball on Saturday with Mark Robbins playing for Burton and Aaron Webster who scored two identical goals from corners against us in two consecutive games last season. Let's hope that we keep these two in check. Things must get better on Saturday.

Re: Last Night's Game Against Great Harwood
Mark Robbins is out for three months with injury and if you want Smith back, tough!
He pulled a hamstring at Morecambe and was at fault for their second although he did win everything in the air. Not great on the deck but unbeatable in the air. He and Flitcroft are training with you as normal but are coming to Barrow on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays to play and train.

We got a new roof, & a bar on the Clayton End & a new school in Nepal. Beat an Ex-Premiership side away, had some more tarmac laid over the puddles & saw a 3 inch high header. ASFC Youth system saw youth inthe first team & more importantly we signed a "pub"! Remember 6 points off Morecambe & paid our highest fee ever for a player. All this & still "light" years ahead of Barrow & Worksop!!!!!

Re: Last Night's Game Against Great Harwood
Report about Barrow.......
After conceding 14 goals in two home friendlies (9-0 v Sheff Wed and 5-1 v Carlisle) in addition to a 6-5 victory over Furness Cavaliers Turnbull has identified the defence as the key area to strengthen and hopes to have Accrington centre half Jonathan Smith on show today. With the team missing captain and player of the year Mark Salmon until October, sidelined with a shoulder injury, a difficult start to the season is envisaged for the Bluebirds however they should still have enough quality to be challenging for at least a play off place come next May."
Optimistic or what?

Re: Last Night's Game Against Great Harwood
Hey he must be a gr8 manager to be able to pin point the defence needs strengthening after those results
Respect due Mr Turnbull........
Maybe, however we should now like Barrow as they have Stanley legend Smith with them????
No..... okay!
