Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

You're surely not comapring Stanley to Arsenal and Cobblers to Bolton.....
Come on mate..... Stanley are a decent side who have had a decent run.

We are a crappy league 2 club who have graced the Prem for one season and spent the rest of history bouncing between the basement and League One.....

So how you can (as relative newcomers to the FL) compare us to Bolton is quite amusing....

I think we are like Northampton and you are like Accrington.....!

Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

one observers assessment of tonights game (taken form The hotel End forum)

What a great night to be a Cobbler! The best thing is Accy weren't even that bad, we were just breathtaking. Their keeper made a string of fine saves in the last half hour, apart from the first goal there was nowt they could have done about any of them, and they weren't a particularly sloppy or disorganised side either.
In Thornton, Guttridge, Gilligan and Osman we have one of the most technically gifted midfields in the division, and as has been mentioned frequently in the past couple of weeks we probably have one of the best defences and the best keeper. And with Bayo still terrifying opposition centre halves and McKay improving every game, it's fair to say we have a potent strikeforce as well. It's hard to really pick any weaknesses in our current side, and all the ingredients are there for a promotion push. I think we've known this for a little while now, but tonight's emphatic result just confirms it.

Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

Didn't think you lot were too bad, with your little band of supporters (who made more noise than us, no surprises there mind).

Thought we deseved the win overall.

Good luck for the rest of the season though.

Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

Northampton played well and, on tonight's showing, I'd be surprised if they're not in the top 7 at the end of the season - I'd prefer not to meet them in the play-offs, though.

Stanley had an off day. Let's just hope Coley and Jimmy get things sorted out for 3 points at Macc.

Ultras were splendid, non-stop as usual!

Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

Well just got back after an epic journey home.

Without doubt our worst performance of the season.

Gary King started on the left wing and was totally lost which isnt a surprise.

Horrible mistake from Bouza to let in their 1st but he made up for it in the 2nd half, and no joke it could have been 7/8 by the end.

Just forget about this and hope its a blip!!

Re: Live Coverage of Northampton game ?

I must admit Northampton were awesome tonight. Pace, power and super athleticism all over the pitch and we couldn't live with them. First half we weren't that bad but they hammered us in the second. Not the real Stanley tonight, but for me the Cobblers are the best side in the division. Great show fom the Ultras who deserved the appreciation shown by Coley and the team at the final whistle.
