Maguire - and now Crooks. And for 18 months. Words fail me. But evidently they don't fail Coley. Quote : “We did try him up front once because we were craving someone who could hold the ball up".

So where was Coley if he thinks we tried him up front only once? And as for holding the ball up, ....?

I suppose if he'd taken either of those chances against Yeovil he'd be a Stanley legend already. But as he didn't, I am, shall we say, a little surprised by this move. We shall see what we shall see ....... Up from the back to score a last-minute winner against Burton tonight, anyone?

I wonder if he's playing for us for free. At a wage of 500 per week which we could be paying to someone else, it would only take him till the age of 31 to repay the quarter of a million he owes us for one of the worst misses in football history.

Why would somebody want to sign for a side were a majority of fans dislike him. Another huge show of Coley's arrogance and stubbornness. It must be great to never be wrong.

Aye, it's not exactly going to get the fans rolling back in tonight. It will be interesting to know from the main stand posters how Coley reacts to the inevitable abuse from the moaners if he turns in his usual standard of performance, assuming he plays.
Let's think positive though, eh, Choirboy?

Re: Matt Crooks Signs

Had a gut feeling we would sign him.
Wish him all the best and hope he proves a lot of people wrong.
He's only a young kid starting off in pro football and he's a big unit.
Would imagine he will end up holding mid or CB .
His experiences already encountered will make him a better player.
He's a Acci player now and all supporters should give him 100% backing

Are there no other "big units" available? I know we have to fish in a very small pond, but really!

Watch a lot of 21s football and there's not many lads that big !!
He must be 6-5 and hopefully brings something different to our squad.
Although lads may sign pro contracts, I don't class them as a pro footballer until they have played 50 first teams games, so he's still learning yet.
He looks like he's a bit of fight in him as well,so it will be interesting how he develops.
