Re: paul mullin sculpture

i attend that skool i am entering my final year

the statue cost £2000 and took 250 hours by one person to make. they wanted to make it look more like paul mullin however lack of funds prevented this it is smart but lacks a plaque to tell people it is paul mullin.

I refuse to be drawn into a debate re the academic ability of said school to teach spelling and punctuation..... but I am curious as to who paid for the statue??

Re: paul mullin sculpture

I personally dislike it. It looks like one of those wobbly men they used to give out on the generation game. if that cost £2000, then I guess 2 grand doesnt buy what it used to. Like the sentiment though, Paul is a great role model for young sportsmen/women. It would cost a fortune, but a bronze statue which actually looks like Mullers would be a great addition to our ground.

I like it.

If you want a statue, what you need to do is ask someone who manages arts based projects to look into finding some funding for you. Then you need to ask that self same person to manage the project and get one built for you.

For a life size human sculpture in bronze you're looking at between £35,000 and £40,000. Who's going to fund that?

Re: paul mullin sculpture

so do you know anyone Gayle?

I'm with Alvin, I love the idea that its been done, but it looks nowt anybody let alone Mully (though it has no hair!) and I thought that statues were done to retired or dead players.

However, it is a great testament to the player and was apparently done to commemorate his record appearances. Well done Mully

Right, we'll follow Wembleys lead and charge £8 for a burger and £10 for a programme

You'd need an awful lot of bronze for a JC statue
