Pre-match build up
Our current pre-match build up of a torrent of music right until the whistle is blown its killing any atmosphere which used to build before a game,
Since 2BR have taken over the PA we haven't had it once where we go round the team singing the players songs, The atmosphere has to start once Ricky has stopped!
Please can we stop playing music right up to kick off, We will build a better atmosphere than you ever will, although you may think the current top ten might get the adrenaline pumping I'm sure the team would prefer to run out to a rendition of STANLEY ARE BACK!!!
Can you STOP asking the ultras to get singing we are not another one of your CD's!!!
Can you not turn the music up as soon as the final whistle has blown! Yet again we want to show our appreciation for the team/performance
This is our football club, stop trying to turn it into your slot between 3 and 5 on a Saturday afternoon, cause its wrecking the individuality of our club and becoming more like any other soul-less concrete jungle we travel to week in week out
Rant over now lets hope for some improvements,

Re: Pre-match build up
Me and my mates were only commenting on this the other week, Dick plays his music right up to the last second (and over), watch the ref at the begining of each half, he has to wait for the music to stop so that the players can here the whistle.

Re: Pre-match build up
I had a word with Ricky on saturday about it but he says it is the club who decide whenmusic is played & they encourage the music playing before & after......
Its especially ****e at the end of the game when we've just won & some Girls Aloud comes on

We got a new roof, & a bar on the Clayton End & a new school in Nepal. Beat an Ex-Premiership side away, had some more tarmac laid over the puddles & saw a 3 inch high header. ASFC Youth system saw youth inthe first team & more importantly we signed a "pub"! Remember 6 points off Morecambe & paid our highest fee ever for a player. All this & still "light" years ahead of Barrow & Worksop!!!!!

Re: Pre-match build up
i do think the players would like to hear the fans in full song just before the kick off and not music my solution would be for the PA to be turned off with with 4 mins to kick off as a signal to the fans to turn up their own volume
I also had a word with tricky on sat about shouting with joy when the opposition scores he said the club have asked him to.
so as a season ticket holder/life member can I ask the club the following:-
can the music before kick off be a tad quieter for the 1/2 before kick off and stop 4 mins before kick off
can we ask trickey to stop announcing the opposition goals scorers (as other clubs do)
and last but not least when we win do not play any music for a good 5 mins to allow the ultras to sing their heros off the pitch
Rob/Lewis what do you think?

Re: Pre-match build up
Unfortunatly money talks but we could always cut the wire or lose the mic again, that was great that day.

Re: Pre-match build up
OK Gob ****e time, I say that because I’m laying down the idea but not able to action it myself. I think this is one of those situations where a good old fashioned Petition should be brought to bear petitioning the club to give the real heart and soul supporters the opportunity to sing on and sing off their team, institute some volume control and have a fans and players selection within the music line up. I’ll leave the Mr Kirby situation out of it or maybe we can swop him for Kazfaz.

Re: Pre-match build up
What irritates me is the phrase "It's showtime" just before kick-off. Totally inappropriate for a football game.

Re: Pre-match build up
I wouldn`t mind announcing who scored the oppositions goals if they actually announced who scored ours. Something along the lines of
"Scoring his 3rd goal this afternoon for Accrington Stanley, Mr Paul Mullin"
MASSIVE ROAR
"Get in there!!!!!!"
I could live with that.

You're not the only one, where does he think he is? and what decade for that matter?
Whinney Hill mutters under its breath, to a man.
Really think the club should do some very simple market research, asking people's opinion, as it used to be called.
To me the volume is the big problem, but at the level it is now the inappropriateness looms irritatingly large.
